Sandra M. Gilbert is an American literary critic and poet who taught at Princeton and UC Davis. With Susan Gubar she co-authored The Madwoman in the Attic and the three-volume No Man's Land, establishing feminist literary criticism as an academic discipline. She has also written widely on poetry, grief, and mortality.
