Elsa Morante

Elsa Morante was an Italian novelist and poet, widely considered one of the greatest Italian writers of the twentieth century. Her major novels — House of Liars, Arturo's Island, and History: A Novel — combine mythic scope with intimate psychological detail. She was married to Alberto Moravia and was a central figure in Roman literary life.
