Aldous Huxley imagined our dystopia before we built it. "Brave New World" predicted a future of genetic engineering, mood-altering drugs, and distraction replacing freedom. Grandson of biologist T.H. Huxley, he applied scientific imagination to social criticism. His later interests in mysticism and psychedelics expanded his vision, but "Brave New World" remains prophecy disguised as fiction.
